Q for Rima and Robert: What’s the preferred process for requesting live closed captioning help for virtual events this fall?
Robert Salinas
41:28
Hello Jefferson, you are able to submit an online request at SSD's website using the following link (http://fresnostate.edu/ssd/) and select "ASL & Captioning Request"

Robert, thank you! What’s the preferred turnaround time for requests, as well as the latest latest request time.
Robert Salinas
49:27
We ask that you submit a request as soon as you know of the event and prefer up to 5 days in advanced for our staff to coordinate the accommodation.

Robert, thank you! One last question: What costs are involved (if any) with live closed captioning requests, and how are those billed?
Jefferson Beavers
01:01:21
Chris, in addition to Rev, which is my preferred captioning service, I’ve also used Otter.ai and also Temi.com with good results!
Lisa Bell
01:02:17
I like Temi for transcription. Their prices went up recently, but it’s still quite a bit less than Rev.

01:05:16
Jessica, what are your recommendations for the YouTube posting process. Like, in what order do you post/edit captions/update, etc
Robert Salinas
01:05:39
If it is student related, than our office will cover the cost as part of an accommodation. However, I am not sure if the department is response for any cost for any faculty or staff events. I will have to follow up with our Lead Interpreter and Communications Coordinator

I want to share and caption videos from news clips, but don't necessarily want to "steal" their content. What is the best way to go about this?
Robert Salinas
01:07:34
Trying using Amara (https://amara.org/en/) for content you do not own. This will allow you to caption videos yourself that you do not own.

for web links, should we always use a http:// before any web address (even if it ends in .com or .edu) as well as bitly / shortened addresses?
